West 73rd Tango
Made By Judith Baymiller
Judith Baymiller, of Plainsboro, New Jersey, made this batik quilt as a wedding present for her brother and sister-in-law to coordinate with their nontraditional decor. Judith says, "The West 73rd Street address and the passion of a new relationship were the inspiration. Their art collection and love of color influenced my choices."
The pattern is based on Virginia Walton's quilt Transitions, patterned in her book, From Quilts to Wearable Art. Virginia's Creative Curve Ruler was used to cut the curved patches easily and efficiently. See the Extra Credit from the June 2004 issue of QNM for more information on this specialty ruler.
